With a population of 10 500 Örkelljunga is small enough to be on first name terms with everyone, yet large enough to be able to offer a very high level of community service. The local schools have a well earned reputation for providing excellent education all the way from kindergarten to high school.

Free school transport

From three months of age all the children in the community are guaranteed a place in the childcare program. The community even offers an after hours kindergarten for parents working evenings, nights or weekends. Free school transport is provided for children living outside the immediate school catchment area.

Study whilst living at home

The Educational Centre in Örkelljunga in conjunction with Lund university offers students in the area endless opportunities to study whilst living at home. Despite what you may have heard, learning to speak Swedish isn't too difficult and there are many options freely available for those prepared to give it a go regardless of age, education or current proficiency level.

Leisure activities
